As part of our Social Action to support our local community, we are asking parishioners to make donations of nonperishable food items for Mount Offaly House (the White house beside Athy Church), who care for homeless people in Athy.
As a parish we have asked them how we can support them.
For the past few years a rota of parishioners have been baking a cake for them, and dropping into them every Monday.
In more recent times, we asked how else we can support them, and they asked for us to supply the following items:
They are in need of: Tea bags, Coffee, Sugar, Jam, Marmalade, Brown & Red Sauce, Tinned Peas/Beans, Mayonnaise, Cornflakes, Weetabix, Instant and Bisto Gravy, Oxo, Soups, Toilet Rolls, Biscuits, Wash up liquid, Men’s socks, tea towels and dishcloths.
We would encourage you to bring these items to church - and especially on our all age worship Sunday - when we will give thanks for the donations made before bringing them over to Mount Offaly House.
We ask a few families to volunteer to bring these gifts over to Mount Offaly House after the service.
