The Church of Ireland has a child protection policy called Safeguarding Trust.  It is based on the Irish Government's 'Children First' guidlelines, and outlines the procedures and codes of best practice for Church of Ireland Parish activities.

Central to the implementation of the policy is a Parish Panel, which is made up of the Rector, and at least two others from the parish who are interested in the welfare of and ministry to children, but are not themselves active children's or youth leaders.  The Parish Panel are responsible to ensure that Safeguarding Trust is implemented in our parish.
